The Process
PHASE ONE: ONE-HOUR INITIAL DESIGN CONSULTATION
Daytime, evening, and weekend appointments are available to suit your busy schedule. I will come to your home to assess the scope of your project, your objectives, and your vision for your home. Preliminary measurements and digital "before" photographs are taken at this time. Together we will look through photographs as well as fabric and trim samples to generate ideas and help you identify the look you are after for your space, and we will determine the scope, budget, and basic design objectives for your project. At this point, you will have the opportunity to hire us to create custom designs for your home and may involve executing a retainer agreement and deposit collected. At this time a follow up appointment is scheduled.
PHASE TWO: DESIGN PRESENTATION
One to three weeks later (depending on the complexity of your project), we will return to your home to present our designs. You will see samples of any paint colors, wall coverings, rugs, fabrics or trims, and hardware selections used in your design. You will select your favorite design from the options presented, confident that the colors, finishes, and completed design will be exactly what you want for your room.
PHASE THREE: FABRICATION
Bette D. Johnson Interior Design will order all necessary components for your project after three business days of receipt of your deposit and signed contract. Availability of custom products varies greatly. Custom windows will typically take 6-8 weeks from order date to installation. Custom upholstery and Case Goods typically take up to 5 – 16 weeks.
PHASE FOUR: INSTALLATION
Very talented professional installers will install your new window treatments, wall coverings, and other permanent fixtures. I personally supervise every installation phase of each project, to ensure each design executes precisely as envisioned.
